Aerogel+
What is Aerogel?
Aerogel is compound word by ‘aero’ and ‘gel’ with three dimensional network structure. It is the lightest solid in the world composed of air more than 95% of the total volume.
It has various characteristics such as low thermal conductivity, low density, high specific surface area, high transmittance, and low dielectric constant from high porosity close to air.
Silica which is a representative material for inorganic aerogels is appropriate for application of thermal insulation materials and soundproof materials.

Aerogel → Aerogel+
Aerogel+ has more high physical properties derived from independent technology of APIT than conventional aerogels.
Conventional aerogel | Aerogel+ | |
---|---|---|
Porosity (%) | > 90 | > 97 |
Particle size (μm) | 10-80 | 1-5 |
ρT (g/cm3) | ~ 0.1 | < 0.07 |
Specific surface area (m2/g) | < 1,000 | > 1,000 |
Aerogel+
We are successed for commercialization of Aerogel+ by development of silica aerogel technology independently that is based on aerogel field researches.
Aerogel+ has high physical properties uniquely than other aerogel products that presents low density below 0.07 g/cm3, low thermal conductivity with 0.01-0.03 W/m·K, specific surface area over 1,200 m2/g, and etc.
We developed various new insulation paints such as AeroGuard H and AeroGuard S by combining Aerogel+ technology with paint technology, and developed insulation sheets such as insulation blankets/papers by grafting with sheet technology.
